Our SC Veterans’ Advocates Team is Here to Help
For many military servicemembers and veterans, a disabling injury or illness is an unfortunate aftermath of their time spent in service to our country. If you’ve sacrificed during your service and feel you’ve lost something due to your disability, you do not need to suffer alone.
Our SC Veterans’ Advocates Team is here to stand beside you while you go after the VA Disability benefits you deserve.
VA Disability Compensation — Eligibility Criteria
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is the federal agency responsible for administering VA benefits, healthcare, and cemetery services. It also sets the eligibility criteria and ratings for veterans’ disability compensation.
To qualify for veterans disability benefits or compensation, veterans must have a current illness or injury (known as a condition) that impairs their well-being, and provide proof of active duty, active duty for training, or inactive duty training service. Additionally, disabled veterans must meet one of the following conditions:
- The condition occurred during military service, and there is a direct link between the condition and the current disability
- A pre-existing condition was aggravated or worsened by military service
- The disability is related to active-duty service but did not manifest until after discharge from service
VA Disability — Survivor Claims
If you are a family member or loved one of a deceased military servicemember or veteran, certain VA disability benefits may be available to help make ends meet after your loss.
Children, surviving spouses, and in some cases dependent parents may all qualify for VA disability survivor benefits, if certain requirements are met.
There are four main types of VA disability survivor Claims, each with its own eligibility criteria and varying compensation levels, depending on factors such as the cause of the veteran’s death, the survivor’s income and assets, and the veteran’s service record. Contact us at Bluestein Attorneys, and a skilled VA disability lawyer from our team will get back to you to determine your eligibility and decide on the best approach moving forward.
Is Applying for VA Disability Benefits Worth the Time and Trouble?
For many veterans who have sustained injuries or illnesses during their service, applying for VA disability benefits can provide crucial financial assistance and access to healthcare. However, the application process can often seem daunting and time-consuming, making some hesitate to embark on this journey.
The VA disability claims process can indeed be challenging to navigate, with strict deadlines, complex regulations, extensive documentation, and specific evidentiary requirements. However, as complex as the process can be, the potential benefits make it well worth the time and effort, especially when you have dedicated legal support by your side.
With a skilled VA disability lawyer from Bluestein Attorneys advocating for you, you can have confidence that your claim will be properly prepared and presented. Our goal is to make the entire process as seamless as possible for our clients, taking the bulk of the troublesome tasks off their shoulders so they can focus on their well-being while we fight for the benefits they deserve.

When I came home from Iraq, I saw many veterans struggle to obtain the benefits they had earned. Many had given up on the process, leaving behind compensation and resources that could change their lives. I wanted to help them navigate that process. I want to ensure that we are not leaving anyone behind.
